Billy Joel's daughter was rushed to the hospital Saturday afternoon after apparently overdosing on Traumeel, a homeopathic medication.
Alexa Ray Joel, 23, daughter of Billy and Christie Brinkley reportedly took eight Traumeel pills before she became worried about her breathing. Her roommate called 911.
Alexa has since been released from the hospital and is resting at her father's home in Sag Harbor, New York.
"Alexa is stable. Her doctors are assessing her needs, and that's all we can say at this moment," said Claire Mercuri, Alexa and Billy's personal publicist.
Various publications reported that Alexa took the medication because she was apparently still distraught over her break up with boyfriend and bandmate, Jimmy Riot.
It is unclear at this time whether the overdose was a suicide attempt.
In light of the incident, Alexa has canceled her performance at the New York Stock Exchange's annual tree lighting ceremony, scheduled to take place later this week.
