Nielsen SoundScan recently revealed that the Beatles sold more records than any other artist or group other than Eminem in the past decade. The band pushed 30 million units of its albums, including 11,499,000 of its greatest hits package, 1.
The amount was enough to register 1 as the highest selling album of the decade. Eminem managed to surpass the Beatles, but only by about 2 million units, earning him the title of the highest selling artist of the decade.
While the feat is impressive for Eminem, considering he didn't release an album between 2004's Encore and 2009's Relapse, it is perhaps even more impressive how many units the Beatles sold, considering they broke up in 1970.
