Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco and Grain Millers International Union said that Wendy's New Bakery Co. has illegally implemented the terms of a proposed new contract at its bakery where 150 members of Union Local 57 are employed.

The union members have been working under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement that expired in March of this year, the Union said.

The union said it has filed Unfair Labor Practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board following the company's actions.

According to the Union, an impasse has not been reached with the company regarding the new contract. New dates for contract negotiations had been offered and exchanged by both parties prior to the illegal implementation of the company's last offer.

The last offer made by the company eliminates the workers' pension, guts their health care coverage and takes away many of their rights.
