DSW Inc. (DSW) said it currently expects fiscal 2009 annual earnings per share of $1.15 - $1.25 versus its prior projected range of $0.90 - $1.00. On average, 7 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect earnings per share of $0.99 for the year. Analysts' estimate typically excludes one-time items.
The company now estimates annual comparable store sales of around 3% for fiscal 2009. This is updated from DSW's earlier estimate of annual comparable store sales of about 1%. The company attributed the increase in estimates to the better-than-expected sales performance and margin improvement for the fourth quarter.
