Covidien (COV) reported first quarter EPS of $0.86 Wednesday morning, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.75.
Covidien gapped open higher Wednesday and is now up 2.65 at $52.10 in early trade. Shares have risen above nearly a one-month trading range and have set a new high for the year.
