Corinthian Colleges Q2 Profit Surges; Guides Q3; Lifts FY10 View - Quick Facts

Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (COCO) reported second quarter net income of $39.4 million or $0.44 per share, compared to $15.08 million or $0.17 per share last year.

On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.40 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net revenues grew to $414.3 million from $318.29 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Twelve analysts estimated revenues of $404.51 million.

Moving ahead, in Q3 10, the company expects revenue to range from $470 - $480 million; and earnings per share to be approximately $0.45 - $0.47.

Analysts expect the company to earn $0.44 per share, on revenues of $431.03 million.

For the full fiscal year 2010, the company expects revenue to range from $1.74 - $1.76 billion, versus previous guidance of $1.62 -$1.64 billion; and earnings per share to range from $1.63 to $1.68 versus $1.55 - $1.60 previously.

Analysts expect the company to earn $1.59 per share, on revenues of $1.66 billion.
