Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (BONT) announced that its senior vice president, general merchandise manager, Center core and Children's, Therese Callahan has announced her retirement, effective February 5, 2010. Callahan joined Bon-Ton in October of 2006; her career spanned more than 40 years in the retail industry.
In its continuing commitment to succession planning and associate development, Bon-Ton recognized and promoted outstanding individuals from its merchant organization, all of whom report to Tony Buccina, vice chairman, president of merchandising.
Following Callahan's retirement, the company appointed Joyce Armeli as senior vice president, general merchandise manager, Center core and Children's. Armeli, who started with the company as a trainee in 1977, has had senior merchandise management assignments and various divisional merchandise manager, buyer and assistant buyer positions.
Further, the company promoted Kiki Lockwood to senior vice president, general merchandise manager, Ready-to-Wear. Lockwood has held her previous position as vice president, divisional merchandise manager of Ladies' Better Sportswear, since joining the company in August 2002. Prior to joining the Bon-Ton, Lockwood worked at Kaufmann's, a division of May Co. department stores. In addition the company said that Mike Nemoir, senior vice president, general merchandise manager, Men's and Home, will continue in his current position.
