Madonna Invests In Brazilian Coconut Water Beverage

Madonna has invested $1.5 million in a brand of Brazilian coconut water called Vita Coco.

After coming into contact with the beverage through her 23-year-old Brazilian model boyfriend, Jesus Luz, Madonna has joined her manager and other stars, including Demi Moore and Matthew McConaughey, as investors in the beverage.

"Madonna began drinking it in 2009 on her Sticky & Sweet tour and it became her drink of choice," an source told Fox News.

"Before Vita Coco, she was drinking a lot of coffee and having special brands shipped to her on the tour. She began drinking coconut water after workouts and shows. Madonna has a team of specialists around her including doctors, chiropractors and other people who could confirm that it's a healthy choice."

It is believed that Vita Coco offers special health and anti-aging benefits.

"Coconut water is something the Brazilians have embraced for years . . . this is another way she can turn back the clock and pour something super healthy into her body," the source added. "Madonna uses it to detoxify and cleanse her system."

According to Fox News, other health benefits of coconut water include lower cholesterol, reduced risk of diabetes and boosted metabolism and immune systems.
