Bob Dylan Song Turned Into Children's Book

Bob Dylan's "Man Gave Names to All the Animals," from his 1979 album Slow Train Coming, will serve as inspiration for a children's book.

Dylan approved the use of his song's title, which references a line from Genesis 2:20, for use as the book's title and agreed to the book featuring drawings inspired by his lyrics. Says the book's artist Jim Arnosky, "I thought this vision would make a dream of a book, and I asked for Bob Dylan's permission to make this dream come true. Happily, he said yes."

The book, which will be published by Sterling Children's Books in September, will include a CD with Dylan's original recording.

This is the second time a children's book based on Dylan's "Man Gave Names to All the Animals" has been published. In 1999, Harcourt Children's Books released a book of the same title, with illustrations by Scott Menchin, which is now out of print.
