Allied Irish Banks Names Bernard Byrne CFO, AIB Group - Quick Facts

Monday, Allied Irish Banks PLC (AIB) appointed Bernard Byrne as Chief Financial Officer of AIB Group. Byrne will take up his new post in May and will be a member of the AIB Group Executive Committee.

Byrne began his career as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1988. In 1994 he joined ESB International as Commercial Director, leaving in 1998 to take up the post of Finance Director with IWP International Plc. He re-joined ESB in 2004 as Group Finance Director and was appointed to his current position as, Group Financial and Commercial Director in 2009.

Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c., together with its subsidiaries, provides retail and corporate banking, investment banking, and asset management services in the Republic of Ireland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, and rest of the world.
