India's Sachin Tendulkar has broken the world record for highest score in One Day International cricket.
He made the historic performance in the second match of the one-day series against South Africa in the central Indian city of Gwalior Wednesday.
The 36-year-old superstar was in indomitable form as he bludgeoned 25 fours and three sixes in a stunning 200 runs off 147 balls, scoring half of the Indian total of 401 for 3 wickets in 50 overs.
He surpassed the record - 194 runs - jointly held by Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan.
He also became the first cricketer to score a double century in ODI matches.
It was his 411th appearance in an ODI match, which is also a record.
Sachin currently holds the record of scoring most number of centuries in ODI's and tests. He is also the leading run-scorer in both versions of the game.
