INXS will be releasing a new album of "reimagined" classic hits, featuring different arrangements and guest singers filling in for late lead singer Michael Hutchence, marking their first studio release since 2005's Switch.
The band will be joined by Rob Thomas on "Original Sin" and "Never Tear Us Apart," the Killers' Brandon Flowers on "Beautiful Girls," and Ben Harper on "The Devil Inside," as well as by other artists on tracks yet to be disclosed.
Drummer John Farris recently told Rolling Stone, "Everyone who sings on the stuff has their own style, their own take on things, and that's why it's so wonderful."
He added that many of the backing tracks were recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra.
"So that is really rich and juicy and almost has a James Bond-y sort of rhythm bed along with that," he said. "So it was the juxtaposition of the classic and Sixties' secret agent."
INXS hope to return to the studio for an original album in the future, and view this album as a "transitional step."
A release date or title for the classic hits album has not yet been revealed.
