The US dollar edged lower against the currencies of Europe and Switzerland on Tuesday morning in Asia. As of 10:10 pm ET Monday, the greenback declined to 1.3689 against the euro and 1.0607 against the Swiss franc from Monday's New York session closing values of 1.3679 and 1.0621, respectively. The greenback is presently quoted at 1.3686 against the common currency and 1.0609 versus the alpine unit.

In North America, the U.S. inflation and trade data as well as Canada’s central bank decision gained attention. The Chinese trade data was the main news in Asia.
