Meat Loaf revealed in a recent interview that he was paid a meager sum of $1,000 to sing on Ted Nugent's 1976 Free for All album.
In an interview with Undercover.com.au, the singer explained that he needed the money and that it took him only two days work to earn it. Meat Loaf sang every song on the album, along with crafting all of the vocal arrangements, during the recording session.
A year later, Meat Loaf released his breakthrough Bat Out of Hell album. The actor/singer is currently prepping for the release of his latest album, Hang Cool Teddy Bear, which is based on a short story by Killian Kerwin. The album features songs by Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Hawkins and Kara Dioguardi, as well as guest appearances from Hugh Laurie and Jack Black.
Hang Cool Teddy Bear is expected to drop in May thanks to a new record deal with Roadrunner Records/Loud & Proud Records.
