Amazon will feature Them Crooked Vultures for its daily deal promotion on Sunday. As part of the offer, the online retailer will give a free download of the band's track "Scumbag Blues" as well as complete album purchase for $2.99. The group's self-titled debut hit stores on November 16 and came in at number 12 on the Billboard 200 in its first week.
Drummer Dave Grohl recently made headlines. According to band members, he was hospitalized for a serious addiction to coffee.
In a tongue-in-cheek promotion video on the band's website, the former Nirvana drummer is shown sitting sheepishly behind the drums when a title appears reading "Dave Grohl's Coffee Addiction Spirals Out of Control." The joke is followed by footage of bassist John Paul Jones laying down tracks for the band's sophomore release.
"Two weeks after this video was shot, Dave was rushed to doctor due to the onset of unwanted physical effects caused by too much caffeine. For reals. He was kind of a mess," the movie says. "Since then he has reduced his intake of the super delicious hot beverage to a healthier level."
