American Airlines' Maintenance Control Technicians Ratify Contract - Quick Facts

American Airlines, the principal subsidiary of AMR Corp. (AMR) said Tuesday that Maintenance Control Technicians ratified the contract put forth by American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union.

Missy Latham, American Airlines labor spokesperson said,"These employees will realize immediate financial gains, along with more vacation days, holidays and sick time."

The Mechanic & Related and Stores agreements were not approved, towards which the company said it would continue to work. The company said it would look to the National Mediation Board for guidance on next steps with these workgroups, and that it looks forward to re-working the agreements in a balanced way that would achieve ratification.

The spokesperson said, ""Since we started negotiations with all of our workgroups, our objective has been clear: Position the company to compete successfully for the long-term and provide competitive pay and benefits, and a good career for our employees."

AMR closed Tuesday's regular trading session on the NYSE at $6.23, down $0.23 or 3.56%.
