Vampire Weekend, LCD, Phoenix Contribute Songs To Gulf Coast Album

The Global Green USA charity has put together a compilation album to raise money for restoring parts of the Gulf Coast which were destroyed by the massive oil spill this year. The album includes songs by Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, Silversun Pickups, the Black Keys and the National.

The compilation is called Gasoline Rainbows, taken from the title track by Amy Kuney.

The proceeds will not only be dedicated to cleaning up the coast, but Global Green USA also channels funds to research and prevent future environmental disasters.

Other groups on the compilation include Passion Pit, Surfer Blood, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Damien Rice.

Gasoline Rainbows will be available through iTunes starting November 30.
