Dril-Quip, Inc. (DRQ) Thursday announced the appointment of John Lovoi as Chairman of the Board and Blake DeBerry as President and Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. The incumbent Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Walker retired and is stepping down from the positions effective immediately.
Dril-Quip appointed James Gariepy as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, also effective immediately.
Walker also steps down from the board. DeBerry was appointed as a member of the board of directors to replace Walker.
Lovoi, 50, has been a director since May 2005 and is also chairman of the Nominating, Governance and Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. He is the Managing Partner of JVL Advisors LLC, a private energy investment company, and is also a director of Helix Energy Solutions Group, an NYSE listed energy services company.
Gariepy, 54, has held domestic and international management positions since joining the Company in 2004 and most recently served as Senior Vice President - Manufacturing, Project Management and Service.
Houston, Texas-headquartered Dril-Quip is a manufacturer of offshore drilling and production equipment, for use in deepwater, harsh environment and severe service applications.
