During New York afternoon deals on Friday, the Australian dollar edged up further against its US and Japanese counterparts. At present, the Aussie is trading near a fresh multi-month high of 1.0790 against the greenback and a new multi-day high of 82.62 versus the yen, which may be compared to Thursday's close of 1.0714 and 81.67, respectively.
