Simon Cowell is reportedly considering offering up the newly opened job of X Factor judge to none other than Beyoncé. According to a new report from Britain's The Sun, Simon is also planning to make an offer to Bey's fellow diva Mariah Carey.

Early this week, news broke that Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul had been relieved of their duties on the show. Now a source close to the reality boss says that he's eying bigger names for the next season of the U.S. edition of the show.

"Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor and Mariah is the best," the source tells The Sun.

Abdul broke the news of her departure from X Factor earlier this week, saying she harbors no ill will towards either Cowell or the show's network, Fox:

"I wanted to let you know directly from me that it's true I won't be returning to The X Factor. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and making great music and more! I'm grateful for the love you always give me."
