Kid Rock has responded to an article published in the Detroit Free Press which noted that his clothing company, Made in Detroit, does not manufacture many of its wares in Detroit.

Kid complained about the article's depiction, calling it a hatchet job:

"The goal of MID is to re-instill a sense of Detroit pride, give back to the community, try to create jobs in our home state and maybe one day build our own facility somewhere close to the riverfront in Detroit."

"You didn't care about printing the fact that 98 percent of all clothing sold in America is not made in America," he added.

A rep for the Free Press called the column "fair, balance and accurate and noted the charitable work done by his company," adding that people should read it "for themselves."
