A Northrop F-5 fighter jet of the Turkish Air Force crashed in the central Anatolian province of Konya on Tuesday leaving the pilot dead and the co-pilot missing.
The jet belonging to the Air Force aerobatic team crashed on a factory site, about 2,000 kilometers from its take-off point.
Body of the young pilot, identified as Ümit Özer, was retrieved from the remains of the aircraft while search was on to locate the missing co-pilot, the Turkish media reported.
An investigation was on to determine the cause of the accident.
