Wabtec Corp. (WAB) announced Thursday morning that it projects first-quarter earnings per share to be about $1.20. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $1.02. The company also raised its full-year 2012 earnings per share guidance to about $4.80. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $4.37.
Wabtec gapped open sharply higher Thursday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. The stock closed up by 5.06 at $76.36 on above average volume. Wabtec set a week and a half high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
