Earnings Watch For April 20 (GE, HON, KMB, MCD, SLB, AEP, MAN)

Conglomerate General Electric Co. (GE), the results of which is considered a barometer of the economy as a whole, is expected to report first quarter earnings of $0.33 per share, flat with last year. The technology, media, and financial services giant is expected to report revenues of $34.70 billion, down from last year's $38.45 billion. The shares closed Thursday at $19.14. (52-wk H/L $21.00/$14.02)

Honeywell International Inc. (HON) is slated to report first quarter results before the market opens. The company is expected to report earnings of $0.99 per share, higher than last year's $0.88 per share. Quarterly revenues are anticipated to rise to $9.16 billion from last year's $8.67 billion. HON closed Thursday's session at $58.00. (52-wk H/L $62.28/$41.22)

McDonald's Corp. (MCD) is scheduled to report results for the first quarter. Earnings and revenue for the quarter are expected to be $1.23 per share and $6.54 billion respectively. In the previous year, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based hamburger chain reported earnings of $1.15 per share on revenues of $6.11 billion. On the NYSE, MCD closed trade on Thursday at $95.28. (52-wk H/L $102.22/$76.54)

Oilfield services provider Schlumberger N.V. (SLB) will report first quarter results. The company is expected to post earnings of $0.97 per share, higher than the year-ago quarter's $0.71 per share. Also, the company is anticipated to generate revenues of $10.55 billion, up from $8.72 billion in the prior-year quarter. On the NYSE, the company's shares closed Thursday's session at $69.80. (52-wk H/L $95.53/$54.79)

Consumer goods company Kimberly-Clark Corp. (KMB) is also due to post quarterly results. The company is expected to report first quarter earnings of $1.17 per share on revenues of $5.05 billion. In the same quarter a year earlier, the company earned $1.09 per share on revenues of $5.03 billion. The company's shares closed Thursday's session at $75.27. (52-wk H/L $75.77/$61.00)

A. O. Smith Corp. (AOS), American Electric Power (AEP), Ingersoll-Rand plc (IR, Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI), ManpowerGroup (MAN), Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) and Under Armour (UA) are also due to report their quarterly results today.
