Blur Confirm Brief U.K. Tour

Blur have confirmed a brief run of U.K. dates this summer. Damon Albarn and company will kick off the four-date run at Margate's Winter Gardens on August 1, and the dates will include support sets from New Order and the Specials.

The show run will serve as a warm-up for Blur's performance at the closing ceremony of the London Olympic Summer Games. That show will take place in Hyde Park on August 12.

And though Blur fans will undoubtedly be thrilled to catch the band in action, Albarn explained they shouldn't get their hopes up for a reunion.

Speaking with the U.K.'s Guardian, Albarn said their Olympic date will likely be the last performance ever:

"I hope that's the truth: that that's how we end it. I don't know: you can write scripts, and they always end up going . . . well, one thing I've learned, and I'm sure you're exactly the same, is that everything I think I've got totally sorted out, and I know exactly what's going to happen - it never works out that way."

Blur will play:

Margate Winter Gardens (August 1)

Wolverhampton Civic Hall (5, 6)

Plymouth Pavilions (7)
