Casey Anthony was found in a Florida hiding spot and served papers to appear in court in New York after, Zenaida Gonzalez, a woman who claims her character was defamed as a result of Anthony's deceit.
Anthony initially told police that a woman, Zanny the Nanny, was responsible for the kidnapping of her daughter Caylee. Gonzalez says she lost her job and apartment because of the association with the name.
"Our investigation team had her whereabouts pinned down," Gonzalez's attorney told People. "Their backs were against the wall, so her attorneys said that they would accept service on her behalf."
Anthony's attorneys requested that she not be compelled to appear in court as her life has been repeatedly threatened.
The trial is set to begin in January.
