Nasdaq OMX Shareholders Elect Members To Board

Nasdaq OMX Group, Inc. (NDAQ) said Friday that its shareholders elected all nominated directors at the company's Annual Shareholders Meeting.

Ellyn McColgan, an Executive Advisor at private equity firm Aquiline Capital Partners, LLC, is new to the board. Board members Steven Black, Börje Ekholm, Robert Greifeld, Glenn Hutchins, Essa Kazim, John Markese, Thomas O'Neill, James Riepe, Michael Splinter, and Lars Wedenborn were elected to their positions. All will serve one-year terms.

Shareholders also ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2012.

Additionally, shareholders approved the company's executive compensation on an advisory basis and a stockholder proposal for the adoption of a simple majority vote on an advisory basis.

Shareholders rejected another stockholder proposal on special shareholder meetings.

Subsequent to the annual meeting, the Board of Directors met and elected Börje Ekholm to serve as the interim Chairman replacing H. Furlong Baldwin, who retired from the board.
