The US dollar gained ground against the major currencies of Europe on Tuesday morning in New York.
The greenback climbed to a 4-day high of 0.9566 against the Swiss franc and 1.2560 against the euro around 9:00 am ET.
The US currency also reached as high as 1.5861 versus the pound before holding steady around 9:00 am ET.
On the upside, the dollar may find target levels at 0.96 against the franc, 1.25 against the euro and 1.5850 against the pound.
