Chaka Khan is marking the 40th anniversary of her break into the music business by heading back into the studio to record not one, but two new albums.
The R&B singer will reportedly lay down vocals for a gospel and a jazz album due out in 2013. "Being in the studio makes me very happy," Chaka said in a statement. "I am so excited about the new music and the direction on this project."
First, she'll have to wrap up her current tour of Europe, which is set to end in late 2012. The 59-year-old singer said that she is really enjoying being out on tour performing for her fans:
"We are having a super great time on tour and the opportunity to connect with my fans is one of the greatest gifts ever."
Khan says that once the two new albums are complete, fans can expect to see her on the road once again in 2013.
