During New York mid-day trading on Friday, the Japanese yen advanced further against most major currencies.
At present, the yen is trading near new multi-day highs of 79.90 against the Canadian dollar, 126.95 versus the British pound and 64.75 against the NZ dollar, compared to yesterday's close of 80.48, 127.22 and 64.90, respectively.
Against the Australian dollar, the yen also edged up further and currently trading near 81.95 from Thursday's closing value of 82.19.
