Dutch House Prices Fall At Steady Pace In October

House prices in the Netherlands decreased at a steady pace in October, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Wednesday.

The house price index declined 7.8 percent on an annual basis in October, almost in line with the 7.9 percent decrease seen in September. In August and July, the index dropped 8 percent each.

Prices of single family dwellings decreased at a slower rate of 7.7 percent in October than 8 percent in September. Prices of apartments fell 8.2 percent annually, after declining 7.8 percent in the previous month, data showed.

A total of 8,507 homes were sold in the Netherlands in October, higher than 7,143 sold in September, data showed.

In the ten months ended October, around 90,000 residential properties were sold, higher by 8 percent compared to the same period last year.
