Zachary Confections Inc. is recalling certain production lots of its Zachary Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs due to possible contamination with Salmonella bacteria.
The potentially affected products are packaged in white egg crates with purple, green and yellow lettering; bear the Code Dates of D3245D; D3145E; F3145E; D3245E and Best Buy date of 2/14/14.
The recalled products were distributed to some retail stores located in sections of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The recall doesn't affect any other Zachary Confections products and no consumer illness complaints associated with the recalled products have been reported to date, said the company.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are requested to destroy or return them to the store where they were purchased.
