Russia's manufacturing sector expanded at a steady pace in February, a survey by Markit Economics revealed Friday.

The headline HSBC purchasing managers' index scored 52 in February, unchanged from the previous month. Readings above 50 indicates expansion of the sector.

Output registered another moderate increase in February, but at a rate that was slightly weaker than in January. Despite improvement in overall activity, manufacturers cut jobs for a fourth month in a row, the survey found.
