Long before Justin Timberlake turned "Rock Your Body" into a smash hit, the song was intended for Michael Jackson, according to Billboard.
"Rock Your Body" was originally intended for Jackson's 2001 album Invincible. MJ was offered the song by the Neptunes, but it ended up being made a hit by JT, who put it on his debut solo album, Justified, after MJ passed on it.
Billboard has compiled a list of singles that big singers passed on, a list that also included Nicole Scherzinger, who passed on the Rihanna hit "We Found Love"; Britney Spears, who passed on Lady Gaga's "Telephone"; Paris Hilton, who passed on Pussycat Dolls "Don't Cha"; Gloria Estefan, who passed on Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud"; and Chris Brown, who passed on girlfriend Rihanna's hit, "Disturbia."
