Norway Dec-Feb. Unemployment Rate Rises

Unemployment rate in Norway increased as expected in the three months through February, a report from Statistics Norway showed Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted jobless rate rose to 3.6 percent in the December-February period from 3.3 percent in September-November.

The number of unemployed persons totaled 97,000, up by 9,000 compared to the previous three-month period.

There were 2.6 million people in employment in Norway in December-February, falling by 11,000 from the preceding three months. The employment rate fell to 68.7 from 69.2 in the three months to November.
