John Rutsey, the original drummer for Rush, will not be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band later this month, leading to protests from some fans.

"Once again, Rock And Roll Hall Of Shame: even when you finally get it right, you still get it wrong," wrote one fan of the group on the Rush Is a Band Facebook page.

Rutsey was replaced by Neil Peart, who will be joining Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson at the induction ceremony later this month.

Rutsey left the band after the release of their first album, in part due to diabetes issues, which are believed to have contributed to his early death at the age of 55 in 2008.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony goes down on April 18.
