The Boston Marathon bombings were condemned on Wednesday by what many would consider an unlikely source.
The leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, denounced the bombing, says the Republic of Iran is opposed to any bombings and killings of innocent people.
However, he also used the occasion to accuse the United States of having a double standard by condemning the Boston bombings, yet supporting or carrying out drone strikes or other attacks that kill innocent people in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria.
"The US and other so-called human rights advocates remain silent on the massacre of innocents in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, but they cause a ruckus after a few blasts in the United States," Khamenei said.
Monday's twin bombings in Boston killed three people and injured more than 170.
