Poland's industrial production grew 9.2 percent in March from a month ago, data published by the Central Statistical Office showed Thursday.

The month-on-month increase in output reversed the 2.8 percent fall seen in February, but it was slightly weaker than the 10 percent rise forecast by economists.

Manufacturing output advanced 11 percent and mining and quarrying output gained 4.3 percent. In contrast, output of electricity, gas and air conditioning supply eased 0.8 percent.

On a yearly basis, overall industrial production declined 2.9 percent, larger than the expected 2.2 percent fall.

In the period January to March, production of industry was by 2 percent lower than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
