Aerosmith bass player Tom Hamilton, who had to exit the band's current tour due to a lung infection, tweeted to his fans this week, thanking them for their well wishes.

"I'm under the best of care," he wrote on the micro-blogging network, adding, "and I will provide more information within the next couple of days. Thanks again for all of the love and support."

The bassist, who struggled with cancer in 2006, was replaced by David Hull, bass player for the Joe Perry Project. He previously replaced Hamilton on tour in 2006.

A-Smitty has a May 4 gig in Melbourne, Australia, followed by a date in Manila, Philippines on May 8 and then Jakarta, Indonesia on May 11. After taking June and July off, the boys will be in Japan for four shows in August.
