India's inflation, as measured by the consumer price index, eased in April, data from the Central Statistics Office showed Monday.
The CPI rose 9.39 percent year-on-year in April, slower than a 10.39 percent increase in March.
The price index for food and beverages climbed 10.61 percent in April from a year earlier. Prices for fuel and light rose 8.1 percent.
The CPI for clothing, bedding and footwear component increased 10.22 percent year-on-year in April, data showed.
