Romania's industrial production increased modestly from last year in March, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.
Industrial production, on an unadjusted basis, increased 1.3 percent year-on-year in March. Production in the manufacturing sector rose 2 percent, while output in the mining and quarrying industry decreased by 1.9 percent.
Production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, steam and air conditioning were lower by 3 percent than in April 2012.
On a monthly basis, industrial production moved up a seasonally and working-day adjusted 0.3 percent in March, the agency said.
During the January-March period, industrial output advanced 4.7 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier.
