The Doors have announced the release of a limited edition t-shirt paying tribute to the life of their late keyboardist Ray Manzarek. The new t-shirt shows a photo of Manzarek along with the Doors' logo and the words "Ray Manzarek 1939-2013."
The shirts are currently on sale through the band's official website for $25 each. Fifty percent of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the charity Stand Up To Cancer, a group whose mission is defined as "collaborative, translational cancer research to bring treatments from the bench to the bedside faster, and save lives now."
In the years since its founding in 2008, Stand Up To Cancer has raised over $160 million towards cancer research.
Manzarek died at the age of 74 on May 20 in Rosenheim, Germany where he was being treated for bile duct cancer.
