The Reuters/University of Michigan's final report on consumer sentiment index for July is due at 9:55 am ET Friday. The greenback showed mixed trading against other major currencies prior to the data. While the greenback fell against the yen, it held steady against the franc and the euro. Against the pound, the dollar recovered.
At 9:50 am ET, the greenback was worth 0.9283 against the franc, 1.3272 against the euro, 1.5389 against the pound and 08.32 against the yen.
