Chris Brown may find himself in hot water with the law again as he is facing a lawsuit from Frank Ocean's cousin over a fight at an L.A. recording studio earlier this year. Sha'keir Duarte, Ocean's cousin, has filed a suit against Brown for assault and battery and is seeking unspecified damages.
The incident occurred on January 27 in the West Lake area of Los Angeles and was reportedly sparked over parking spots in the studio's lot. An attorney for Brown, Mark Gregaros, claims that the charges are unfounded and that Duarte is merely seeking an easy payout:
"This is what gives lawyers and lawsuits a bad name is garbage like this," Gregaros tells USA Today.
The suit also claims that Brown's entourage threatened to escalate the fight with guns. Ocean claimed he was injured in the dust up but never sought criminal charges against Brown.
