Metallica: Through The Never will premiere at 7 p.m. September 9 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film, which combines a fictional narrative with live performance footage, stars Metallica band members and actor Dane DeHaan (The Place Beyond the Pines, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), and is directed by Nimród Antal (Predators, Kontroll).
Metallica explained: "'Through the Never' will screen in the special IMAX at TIFF section and we'll be on hand for the red-carpet premiere, to introduce the film and will spend some time in Toronto to chat with the press."
Two trailers for the film have already been released. The film will hit movie screens nationwide on September 27, with the soundtrack (which will include live versions of Metallica hits) slated for release on September 24 on the band's label, Blackened Recordings.
