Smokey Robinson has announced plans for a new album comprised of duets with a selection of R&B's biggest stars. Former American Idol judge Randy Jackson has signed on to produce the release, which features appearances from Jessie J and John Legend among others.
"Randy Jackson is a long-time friend, a great musician and an amazing, experienced record producer. I'm honoured and very happy to be working with him. He's my brother," Robinson said in a statement.
Jackson added: "It's my utmost pleasure to produce this amazing duets record with the legend, Smokey Robinson. He is one of the most incredible songwriters of all time. It's going to be hot!"
The release will include tracks from Robinson's writing catalog, which have been featured over on his solo releases, with his group the Miracles, and hits recorded by other artists including Marvin Gaye.
