Rod Stewart kicked off his "Live the Life" tour with Steve Winwood on Thursday, October 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The first part of the trek runs through October 26, pausing in November while Rod does his Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
He and Winwood will pick things up December 4, continuing on the road for the next couple of weeks.
Speaking with ABC, Stewart said he's a longtime admirer of Winwood's:
"Steve was actually famous before I was. He's not only a fantastic singer that I look up to and always have done, but you know, we're old school. I think, especially, if we get to sing a couple of songs together, it's gonna be fun."
Rod added that he plans on playing new material from his latest disc, Time, during the tour, along with his beloved hits.
