Sammy Hagar says that Chickenfoot will be heading to the studio to record their next album at the start of 2014.
"It looks like January is on the agenda," Hagar tells M Music & Musicians. "Joe [Satriani] has been writing, and I'm writing lyrics at all times."
The former Van Halen frontman continued: "He's going to start sending me stuff and I'll send him lyrics, and we'll walk in with five or six ideas. As for the rest of the songs, we'll create them on the spot with the four of us in a room."
The supergroup - which features Hagar on vocals, Joe Satriani on guitar, Van Halen's Michael Anthony on bass, and Red Hot Chili Pepper's Chad Smith on drums - released their last album, Chickenfoot III, back in 2011.
