Colorado authorities say a man with a domestic violence history broke into his ex-girlfriend's house and shot and killed his daughter before turning the gun on himself.
Merrick McKoy, 22, photographed a 19-month-old Mia McKoy-Phanthavongsa and posted it on facebook with a note that said, 'Don't judge me had no choice."
The child was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead, KMGH-TV, Denver reported.
McKoy broke into Kimphone Phanthavongsa Monday morning, in violation of a restraining order, police said.
She said to investigators that McKoy was standing over her bed with a handgun pointed at her, and she rushed out of the apartment to call authorities. As police arrived they heard a shot fired and found both wounded.
