At 4:00 am ET Friday, the Ifo is scheduled to release the business climate index for November. The headline index is forecast to increase to 107.7 from 107.4 in October.
The euro rose against other major currencies ahead of the data.
At 3:55 am ET, the euro was quoted at 1.3495 against the greenback, 0.8328 against the pound, 1.2321 against the franc and 136.33 against the yen.
